Hello! My name is T.R. My husband and I unfortunately have a mortgage with HFC. It's been hell ever since we received the loan in 2001. We were involved in the lawsuit and received some money but of course we'll never recoup all of our losses. I thought that everything was resolved but they are up to their old tricks again. I'm fairly sure that they are not crediting our payments on time. We pay with a money order directly to the branch office. We stopped using the online payment option because it would take up to five days for them to take the payment!

But as it stands now, even with going into the branch and just handing our payment directly to them, they are still posting the payments late and then telling me that we owe deferred interest.

Also, during the lawsuit I spoke with their regional manager. He went into our account and changed our interest from 11.25% to 6%. But when I receive phone solicitation from them, the operator always has our interest listed at 11.25%. I have asked them for documentation of what our interest rate is and they flat out refuse to give it to me. So I have nothing in writing that says for sure what our rate is. Are they allowed to do this? I am at the end of my rope after battling with them for five years. I would like to know what my rights are and what I can do to stop them. Thank you for your great website and for all your help.

Sincerely,

T.R.
