Topic Title: Out of Patience With HSBC Bank Credit Card

I am writing to you because I have ran out of patience and trust with my HSBC bank credit card. I opened my account in May 2005 when I made a balance transfer. In June 2005 I did not recieve a bill or new account card but instead phone call regarding overdue balance with late fees. At that moment I paid my balance in full with customer service rep over the phone and requested my account be closed immediately. I was told and assured my account was closed.
In the following months to current date I recieved new bill every month, reporting a past due balance late fees every month for an account which was paid in full and CLOSED. Each month I called and told my account will be cleared and no payments needed to be made. I was also informed because it was a clerical error that my credit would not be affected but it has. Now 6 months have passed and I am sure my credit has been ruined. I want my account closed or need advise as to what I can do to fight back and protect myself. Please help
