Here at Household - HSBC Watch we are receiving telephone calls on the hotline/helpline because people are seeing a new item on their credit reports which simply says HSBC/store or HSBC-store. We are reporting these early indicators here so everyone can find the reference and possibly some help.
HSBC is HSBC Bank plc, and "HSBC store" is coming from the HSBC Finance Corporation subsidiary which is the new name of predatory lender Household International. This is an early determination and could be revised. In the past HSBC reported accounts to the credit bureaus as HSBC-NV and HSBC-RS (Nevada and Retail Services) - see more on these here -
Since these telephone calls for help actually started we recognize this as a new trend from a well known questionable lender. What makes the credit report item troubling is there is little reference information for consumers or the credit reporting agencies and no telephone number. We regard that as another tactic of a questionable lender. Calls to HSBC Finance Corporation's corporate telephone number, 847-564-5000, resulted in no help what so ever. That's another sign of a questionable lender.
Then we called the real bankers at HSBC - not the shady lender Household International predatory side fo the company. They told us they didn't know where the information was coming from. They generally don't know much about the dealings of the "finance company" so we expected that.
At this time our investigation continues. We recommend that you contact their spokesperson for more information.

After some research, it appears that HSBC/Store is a charge account for Storehouse Furniture. Their links are www.storehouse.com and www.storehousefurniture.com . THe toll free number for Storehouse customer service is 888-786-7346.
